O  merciful God, on this day I give special thanks to you for the resurrection of your Son, Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. By His resurrection from the dead, you gave us a sign of your promise to rescue us from death, your power to do it, and your intention to accomplish it. I remember today that you took upon yourself to suffer the terrible pain and fear all people face, voluntarily, for no reason except your love for us; and I thank you with every ounce of my being for your extraordinary love and mercy. All glory be to You, wonderful God.

  To Serve Christ Dearest Lord, teach me to be generous; Teach me to serve you as your apostle; To give and not to count the cost, To fight and not heed the wounds, To pray and not seek for rest, To worship and not to seek reward, Save that of knowing that I do your will. Amen.

  Lord Jesus, I trust in You

  Heavenly Lord, I pray that this day, you will continue to bless me, that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak. Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those that are lost and can’t find their way. I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don’t know you intimately. I pray that others will find your strength, so that they can love and help one another. I pray for those who don’t believe, that they may find you. And when this world closes in on me, let me remember the example of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. Remind me, nudge me, let me remember to find you when I feel like I'm pushed beyond my limits. In Christ’s name, I come to you.

  Time with God is personal. It does not need to be in the morning, it could be mid-day or before bed. When we spend time alone with the Lord, we create a space for Him to speak to us. It could be through His word, prayer, silence, or time in nature. God also speaks through other people or things that we read. His ability to communicate with us is boundless, and we need to be open to hearing His voice and obeying His callings.  Don't be discouraged if setting aside time for God seems overwhelming and impossible. Start praying about God opening up moments in your day for Him. Ask for creativity. This might even be listening to worship music in the car, devotionals, or podcasts that speak His truth. 

  Every day, we have the opportunity to thank God for blessing our lives. Thanksgiving is when we can reflect on our lives and recognize all the good things we have. We can give thanks for our family and friends, the health we enjoy, and the opportunities we have been given. We can give thanks for the beauty of nature and the peace and joy that comes living in communion with God. Thank You, Lord! Thank you, Lord, for all the blessings in my life. Thank you for the sun that rises each morning and the stars that shine each night. Thank you for the joy of friendship and the comfort of family. Thank you for the beauty of nature and the mysteries of the universe. Thank you for your guidance and protection. Most of all, thank you for never leaving my side, even when I don't know you are there. Have mercy and save me O God. Amen. Giving thanks to God is not just something we do on Thanksgiving Day.
